ABSTRACT: Exploring the effects of early childhood education on urban planning is essential for understanding its potential long-term impact on urban development. This study aimed to evaluate how early childhood education influences children's understanding of urban planning concepts and their future interest in urban development. The objectives were to (1) assess children's understanding of basic urban planning principles, (2) evaluate the integration of urban planning activities in the curriculum, and (3) examine changes in children's attitudes towards urban development. A survey design was chosen to systematically collect data from participants. A purposive sample of 110 children aged 4-6 years, involved in urban planning-related education programs, was selected from an early childhood education center in Rivers State. Findings revealed significant improvements in children's understanding of urban planning principles, effective integration of urban planning activities, and increased interest in urban development. The study recommended incorporating urban planning themes into early childhood curricula and providing training for educators to deliver these activities effectively.
